As people, throughout a trying season, trials or tribulation, we find ourselves asking, why? You may feel like the fiery darts are more complicated and difficult now. The trials are lasting longer without relief. Normally, a trial would last for a season but not several seasons!
You keep asking the “whys” because you’re looking for an answer from God. For instance, you may ask a series of questions like, What’s happening to me? Why God? Why me? What’s wrong with me? Why I can’t get a job? Why is my marriage in chaos? Why am I not reaping profit from my business? Why I haven’t been promoted yet? What’s wrong Lord? Why are You not allowing doors to open for me?
Then turn around and seek people for answers, who say, “stay focus”, but they don’t have a clue of all the hell you been through. They say “how can you be mad God”? So you internalize it afterward, and think, “am I dealing with issues of pride?” Simultaneously, while going to God saying, “I repent of being in pride, please forgive me and help me to remain humble”, you still don’t understand the season that you’re in.
God speaks in many ways, especially through circumstances but people tend to pray and speak from their flesh and not from the Word.
“Be still and know that I am GOD. I will be honored by every nation. I will be honored throughout the world.”
Psalms 46:10 (NLT)
Subsequently, when you realize whose report, advice or word you listen to, you can compare it to what God said: the final authority.
Now what should you do? Do you give up and go back to your old ways of living or continue to trust God even when you don’t see change happening in your life.
“And we know that all things work together for the good to them that love God, to them who are called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28 (KJV)
Stop listening to these people who try to condemn you by asking God, what’s going on in your life. You deserve to know what is taking place in your life, so that you may make wise decisions, growing along the way. Don’t feel ashamed or embarrassed. It’s a natural feeling to be upset, sad, mad, happy, excited, and etc. It’s natural to be upset with God. You’re human first and God knows your heart anyway so why pretend as if everything is well. Tell the Lord how you really feel. He wants you to be real with Him concerning your thoughts, emotions and attitudes.
Don’t forget who you are in Christ and remember God is for you and not against you. You may sense it’s the other way around but that’s not true. Tell the enemy to get out of your ear with foolishness.
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)
Believe in your heart and receive the goodness of the Lord. He wants you to prosper in every area of your life. Now, tell your old life goodbye! Dust off the old and be encouraged in the Lord. Start back working towards your dreams and goals. Life sometimes will throw you a curve ball but the question is, “How will you catch it?”
Nevertheless, you are maturing in Christ even when it seems like the trials are becoming more difficult. God is refining you in the furnace, for something greater. He has you right where He wants you. Don’t lose faith in Him and but trust that He will bring you through.
The word of God says:
“For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith for faith, as it is written: The just shall live by faith.” Romans 1:17 (KJV)
“These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith-of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire-may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.” 1 Peter 1:7 (NIV)
God requires us to live by faith not only when life is going our way but when it seems like all hell has broken loose. Keep standing in season and out. Even through your trials you can always find joy in the Lord. Remember God is with you, in every season.
Your name is VICTORY in Christ Jesus! Begin to praise God for your breakthrough!
As always, Jesus loves you and so do I.
